Test Ramming

Ties that stand the test of time

In order to examine the ground conditions of an area and the ramming ability, SUNSELEX makes a test ramming team available for you. It travels world-wide with specialist hydraulic ramming equipment. If necessary an assessment (building ground investigation) follows by geologists and stress analysts.

During the building ground investigation the necessary ground-mechanical characteristic values are determined. In a survey report the ground conditions are described, the necessary ramming depths are specified and the load of the ramming profiles are calculated.

This is put into effect along with the calculation of the establishment of noise protection walls considering the ZTV LSW 88 and/or 06 under important modification of the methods created for pile-created noise protection walls in different grounds with consideration of the slope inclination.

The approach for this investigation is as follows:

  1. Examination of the homogeneity of the grounds by evaluation of documents, pictures, aerial photographs, ground maps, geological maps, structural analyses etc.
  2. Definition of the location and the minimum number of points of investigation according to the results of 1., definition of the minimum depth of the information
  3. Execution of this information and assessment; if necessary compression of the information  grid
  4. Risk evaluation of the relevant grounds regarding aggressiveness to the material of the establishment profiles, if necessary testing of the applicable ground types and execution of laboratory tests to the chemical aggressiveness; Examination of the ground components on mechanical risks for the zinc layer during ramming followed by a documentation of the results

In the context of this work the location of a possibly existing rock upper edge is also investigated and recorded (e.g. for pilot holes).

The results of the building ground investigation are documented in site plans, tables and textual documents which are prepared and made available to you in a standard format with the original measuring data (for possible other necessary assessments).
